Hi, I’m Dea Camara — the heart behind Cedar Bark Lodge. When I moved from Norfolk County, North in 2020 with my own pack of seven dogs and two cats, I quickly realized how limited the pet care options were in our area. With over a decade of hands-on experience in animal rescue, rehabilitation, training, grooming, and boarding; I decided to put my skills to work and create the kind of care I had been searching for myself.

What started as a small mobile nail trimming service, Nailed It Pet Care, quickly grew beyond what I could have imagined. The incredible support from our community showed me how much trust people were placing in me to care for their pets. That inspired me to take the next step toward my lifelong dream: building a safe, comfortable, full-service pet care facility right here in cottage country.

Cedar Bark Lodge was built with that dream in mind. A family-run space designed for safety, comfort, and peace of mind. Every detail was planned with the well-being of the animals at heart: heated epoxy floors, air conditioning, individual automatic waterers, private indoor/outdoor suites, and secure 8′ fencing.

I am pet first aid and CPR certified, and I bring over ten years of experience in animal behaviour and care. I deeply respect the veterinary professionals we work alongside and always strive to provide a standard of care that supports and complements their work.
